This page is for me to show off my PC. Here, I will inform everyone about any system upgrades I do, any benchmark's I do, any tweak's I do, and any helpful tips about high performance PC's. I will kind of arrange this page like I did, the main page. Except I will always have right at the top of the page, my current system specs. Below that I will just be dating all updates, as well as putting newest info. near the top of the page (or I guess that means, right below my PC specs).

I will also be updating a page that contains the PC that I would really like to have, within reason. So I won't be going nuts on this PC, I want it to be hopefully within reach... some day. And guess what, Now I have an Insane PC Section (it was only a matter of time). Make sure you check both of these out, the links to them are just below.

I would also like to eventually post some pics of some of my Components, and my PC. I will do this as soon as I can get my hands on someone's digital camera. I suppose I could take some pictures with my normal camera, and then scan them... But I'm waaay to lazy to do something like that.

Well, these are my system specs, and links to the components' webpage's. This is actually on the main page as well, but from now on, it will mainly just be updated here.

  • An Abit SA6R, which has an oboard IDE RAID controller capable of 0/1/0+1.

  • An Intel PIII 866, oc'ed to 950Mhz (6.5x146). (I brought it down a bit from 981, just because I didn't notice any performance increase, and it was way more stable that way) To do this without any stability problems, I have to run my CPU core at 1.80v, up .15v from the standard 1.65v.. And I can run it at 1001Mhz but it's not stable enough for me. To keep the CPU nice and cool I have a Globalwin FOP-32 heatsink, and I'm using some Arctic Silver II Thermal compound between the heatsink and CPU for maximum heat transfer.

  • And a New 4Q ATX Full Tower Case. There's a review of it here. I've also tweaked it out big time. I've painted the side panels Glossy black, the front and top silver, and coated it all with a clear coat. I've also installed a Window Kit, and a 101R 10 Inch Red Solid Neon Bolt Kit from www.bigfootcomputers.com. And I dremmeled out the pre-punched fan grills, and replaced them with chrome grills from bigfoot, on top of that I added two 60mm fan holes with grills right beside my CPU, and finally I cut out a 120mm hole in the front for a nice big 120mm fan with a chrome grill and aluminum mesh air filter. I also have a fan bus on the front of the case which controls the speed of all the various fans in my system (I can set them between 7V and 12V), it is similar to the one reviewed here.

The Rest of my computer consists of the following part's, which I kept from my old system:

  • Hansol 900P Monitors. I will soon be upgrading it to a Samsung 900NF 19" Flat Screen Monitor.

  • An Asus V6800 Geforce DDR Pure Video Card.

  • A Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! Value Sound card, One of the newer ones with the Digital Output.

  • An IBM Deskstar 75GXP 7200 RPM 30.7Gb Hard Drive, For running my Triple-booting Operating systems, Windows ME, Windows 2000 Pro, and good old DOS, and my programs. And since thee motherboard I have also has an onboard IDE RAID controller capable of RAID 0, 1, or 0+1, I will be purchasing another IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30.7Gb hard drive and putting the two of them in a RAID 0 (striped) set, for a speedier total of 61.4Gb.

  • A Western Digital 5400 RPM Caviar 30.7Gb Hard Drive, which I use as my archive drive for all my mp3's, movies, and other important files.

  • A Yamaha CRW8424EZ 8x/4x/24x CD/RW Drive.

  • A Pioneer 5X SLotload DVD-ROM Drive. I don't really even watch many movies on my system but I really like the slotload feature of this drive, because I don't have to worry about the tray popping out or something. I just stick the DVD into the slot and that's it.

  • A D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Adapter.

  • 256Mb of Tonicom Tiny BGA 6ns 2/2/2 PC166 SDRam. w/ Thermaltake A1092 RAM Cooling Kit Running at 146Mhz with no stability problems.

  • Altec Lansing ACS-48 3-piece 80W RMS Speakers, w/ 40W RMS wood-enclosed subwoofer (which has a 6.5" long-throw subwoofer) and 20W RMS 2-way Satellites.

  • SONY MD201V Headphones, they sound pretty darn good for the price.

  • And of course I have a floppy drive, logitech PS/2 wheel mouse, and a basic PS/2 keyboard.

Any thoughts or comments on this system? Please e-mail me.

Once I get some time, I'll also post some Benchmarks from this very fast PC.

Here are some more benchmarks. These are the 3DMark's I got on my system (listed above) in Windows ME with DirectX 8, and the Detonator 6.31 drivers using 3DMark2000. Just one note, when I tried to run it in 1600x1200 at 32-bit color, it said I didn't have enough video memory to complete the operation.

It looks like I found a bit of time to run some benchmark's. The following benchmarks are of pretty much all of the different video settings of Quake 3 Arena, with the original code, meaning I was too lazy to patch it to the latest version. These tests were done on my system (listed above) in Windows ME with DirectX 8, and the Detonator 6.31 drivers. During the test's the sound was enabled on high quality.
