Removed and cleaned and clearcoated miscellaneous trim bolts.
Removed drivers door interior panel to replace backing damaged from
moisture, cut masonite backer and assembled
misaligned drivers window will have to check to see what I need to adjust.

Waxed car for the first time.... not sure why..but thought it needed
some protection. Little did I know what I planned to do with the finish
Finally poured Sta-Bil into tank to keep gas fresh.

Removed and cleaned starter selenoid to bring back some of the luster.

Reinstalled ignition coil and starter selenoid on Fairlane.
Checked condition of roof rail weather strip to see if I can fix
or repair. Came up with a plan to do a interum long term fix. These
weather strips are about $400 Canadian.......did you hear me flinch?
First thoughts of an AC unit in the car.......

Polished rear window stainless mouldings and remounted on car.
Work started to repair the roof rail weatherstrip
I am still finding leaks of antifreeze from the waterpump installation!

Installed a bulb of rubber and an aluminum strip to retain the seal
on the roof rail.......WORKS pretty GOOD!

Took apart distributor cap and related parts for cleaning
Tried to use the vinyl repair again but really made a mess this time on the
dash. Took off throttle linkage for cleaning and beadblasting and
clearcoating.

Reorganized plug wires to make sure they are running straight.
Decided to put on the coil over attachments on rear shocks again..
Installed a wire loom cover for wires that were on top of engine.
Purchased and installed a tachometer to see engine RPMs.

Decided to start working on the BRAKES ...GULPS.
Took new drums to the college to bead blast off rust and paint black
removed carb to check for feul leaks due to screws not tight enough.
still leaking feul though..

Bead blasted and clearcoated the exterior of the new Master brake cylinder
Took off tires and rims from car....looking serious at the BRAKES!
Located directions for taking front hubs from the old drums.
Took photos of brake parts so that I would know how to put things back.

Took old front drums and hubs to work to machine shop to have studs
bored out. Purchased bearings for front hubs. Pressed in new bearing
races in front hubs. Took apart all front brake parts for cleaning
and repainting to original colours... Borrowed brake tools from work.

Blasted and painted all internal front brake parts including backing
plates. Remounted all parts after paint was dry and assembled parts.
Found that new front drums were a little out of round and require machining

Machined front and rear drums with the help of Hank at work.
took off all rear brake parts for cleaning and repainting. Pulled wheel axles
and decided to redo the bearings and seals at this time. Took more photos.
adjusted and put on front drums...works pretty good.. not sure I have the
preload set correctly on front bearings though as there seems to be a little
too much play. Will check when car goes for an alignment.

for cleaning

Removed drive shaft for cleaning and replacing U-joints front and rear
Found out that front yoke was scored badly due to someone using heat on it
in the past and started search for a replacement. Called Wayne Kreller and
picked one up from a 80's galaxy. Tried out a carborundum wheel to clean
rust and debris from driveshaft prior to painting..what a mess in the shop
took to work and painted drive shaft black. Pressed off the axle bearings
Borrowed flaring tool from work and bent and installed the new brake lines along the rear housing..both sides.

Reinstalled Drive shaft but before that I undercoated area around drive
shaft. Ordered a transmission kit gasket andfilter from Hoods
reinstalled ebrake cables and adjust to work Installed and plumbed in new
master cylinder but would not PUMP.......hmms.. no brake pressure.

Replaced transmission filter and pan gasket after cleaning and clear
coating pan. Had to hammer the flange flat on pan. Finally located axle
bearings and pressed them on. Refilled transmission with 4L of clean TypeFA
Received new Fairlane500 script from Alabama and installed on right fender.

Removed tranmission cross arm for bead blasting and repainting. Finally
set on rear drums and tried to bleed the system again... NO pedal..
turns out the NOS master cylinder was scavanged for parts and had no kit
in it!! sent it to Winnipeg by courier to get a replacement. Found some
springs to hold the ebrake cables on rear springs. Installed fairlane wheel
cover on spare that arrived from Florida. Wiped down oil pan and painted.

Reinstalled transmission cross member... Looks cool. Trimmed
trunk matt to fit a little better and organized trunk. Removed carb one
more time and took off covers from power valve and accelorator pump to file
flat....finally NO LEAKS of feul....

Speedometer and dash bezel arrived from Maine today. Started to think
checking on the works of the speedometer. Took apart and broke a small clip
retaining the odometer wheel...Have to take out the one in the Fairlane.
removed old dash from Fairlane and found out why the speedometer didnt work
it was caked with grease. Decided to at that point redo the odometer setting
and install the new one that was grease free. Original mileage was 45425.8
I reset it to 0....took photos to prove old mileage and reinstalled. WORKS!

Went to pick up redone mastercylinder while in Winnipeg Purchased new
strut rod bushings and inner and outer tie rods and sleeves..GULPS
Returned all axle seals that were shipped previously and not required.

Installed new improved mastercylinder to check......NOPE still not working
I checked the parts inside and there was still parts missing!! DAMN. Called
Mid Canada suspension and he arranged to have a kit available at Piston Ring
the next day. Park light assemblies arrived from Oregon...

Picked up and installed master cylinder kit. Filled with DOT5 silicone
brake fluid and viola........it worked!! Decided to clean up old tie rods to
see if they are saleable......I did sell them...in February!

Completed the cleanup of the old tie rod parts and STARTED on disassembly
of the front suspension of the car.... you can tell I was not sure about this
one I did some reading in the manual and asked a lot of questions of HANK.
removed all front suspension parts up to the control arms including strut
rods, stablizer bar..all brackets idler arm and pitman arm.. need bushings.

Picked up bushing parts at Hoods, ordered a new set of front brake hoses
as they were badly checked upon real close inspection. I had trouble removing
the center link from the pitman arm. Asked for advice... and TOOLS!
