biography
The story
behind P.J. the "Westman Original", is just as unique as the sound he
produces with an impressive variety of harmonicas. It is a musical journey that spans
five decades and began quite simply as a gift for an injured twelve year old
boy. During these formative years, he developed the ability to simultaneously
combine the melody and chord pattern of each song to create a rich orchestral
sound. P.J. and his harmonicas have been partners ever since. Each seeming to
drow (or blow, as the case may be) the best out of each other, delighting
audiences everywhere.
Performances at Portage’s Strawberry Festival,
Austin’s annual
Threshermen's Reunion, The
Dauphin Country Festival, numerous folk festivals in
Brandon,
Pembina Valley,
and Poplar Point as well as TV appearances on the Western Hour and CBC’s Sandy
Coleman & Company have established his reputation as a player and showman.
