	St. Augustine School is a K-8 Catholic School located in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. It was a K-6 school prior to 1992. On October 26th, 1992, the grade 7 and 8 students from Sacred Heart school joined St. Augustine School. There are approximately 209 students that attend. St. Augustine School is established within the Brandon School Division #40. The school provides the same curriculum as other schools within the Division but in addition it provides religious education. Maintaining a Christian atmosphere in which the children mature is an integral part of the curriculum.
	The Principal's Message: When I think about what I believe is important in the philosophy of our school, four things come to mind: 1.Our Faith in God - As a Catholic school , we hope to help the children to grow in faith and develop values that will lead to positive choices. In this mission, we will act in partnership to support the role of the parents. 2. Respect - We emphasize to the children to show respect for God, respect for each other and respect for the staff and school. If we live by the golden rule - do unto others as you would have others do unto you - we will be showing respect and love for others. 3. Community - As a school we all need to work together to build a strong community where we can live, learn and work together. There is greater power in cooperation than in the efforts of any individual. 4. Learning - We all need to show consistent effort in learning in the classroom. We encourage the development of strong academic skills, and strive to help each child work to their potential. Throughout the year, we integrate the four aspects into the educational opportunities provided. Our Mission... St. Augustine seeks to provide a safe educational environment which will allow growth academically, physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Respect for life, positive self-concept and human dignity are emphasized as part of the development of attitudes and skills for continued learning for life. The school strives to prepare students to engage productively in a democratic society. The Catholic Religious Education Program is the base of our focus. A school environment is created in which a belief in God, and His teachings are integrated into the school program and stressed as a way of life.
