[Map Of Manitoba]

Brandon may be reached by road, rail, and air. The city is located in the southwest corner of the Province of Manitoba, very close to the geographical centre of the continent. It straddles the Assiniboine River: a historically significant transportation and trading route to Canada’s far west. Specifically, Brandon is found 197 km (225 miles) west of Winnipeg, 365 km (225 miles) east of Regina and 100 km (60 miles) north of the Canada-US border.

Brandon is a dynamic community serving a rich agricultural and farming region -- that is why it is called “The Wheat City.” Brandon is a very beautiful city, dotted with lots of parks, many along the Assiniboine River that winds its way through the valley. The city offers a wide variety of indoor and outdoor recreational activities for all seasons.

Brandon proudly boasts a reputation as "the Host City". It is a city of volunteers and leaders with a vision. As such it has become internationally recognized as a host community that not only supports and organizes major events, but also does it very well. To do this the city has developed outstanding public and private facilities to accommodate thousands of visitors. Brandon has played host city to numerous major world-class events such as the National and World Curling Championships and the Canada Winter and Summer Games.
