Parks and Trees

Q. Replace tree that was cut down (20 Ashgrove). (Sept 06)

A. Response from Operations: On the replacement list for the spring of 2007. (Sept 06)

Response from Operations: Will check to see what the status is.

Response from Operations: Tree replacement will be done this fall. (Oct 07)

Q. Shelter belt – 26th to 34th. (Sept 06)

A. Response from Operations: This shelter belt is not located adjacent to a walkway so it does not receive regular maintenance. (Sept 06)

Response from Operations: Will look at during winter as a project.

Q. Can anything be done about the trees on the blvd in our neighbourhood?  We live on Elmdale and like to walk around the area.  As the trees are growning and the leaves get thicker many of the trees hang over the side walk making it difficult to walk. We have to duck down to avoid getting a face full of branches.  Would it be possible to get these trees trimmed back? (Jun 07)

A. Response from Operations: It is on the list for late fall early winter. Provincial legislation does not allow us to prune Elm trees until August. (Jun 07)

I have put it on the list of things to follow up with operations in the fall.

Q. Grass behind houses on North side of Willowdale – Grass is 6 feet high and has not been cut. Individual called 2 months ago but nothing has been done yet. (Sept 06)

A. Response from Operations: Most of this site is a naturalized area but we will get someone to look at it this year (Sept 06)

Response from Operations: We will be looking at cleaning this up as soon as possible.
