Q. What is the process for getting a light in a backlane or in front of a house. (Sept 06)

A. Response from Development Services: If the individual wishing the lights writes a letter, they will have someone go out and evaluate the request. I was told that 8 out of 10 usually get them. The address is: City of Brandon - 410 9th Street - Brandon, MB - R7A 6A2

Q. The light standards north of Park on 34th street appear to be rusting. (Sept 06)

A. Response from Development Services: The light posts are MB Hydros and they confirmed that they are not rusting. It was decided 10 years ago to go with the rustic look to get away from painting. They have since changed to galvanized. The light standards that look like they are rusting can not be painted. We are stuck with them until they are replaced. (Sept 06)
