The 8th Street Bridge
Ken's Bands

Dave Jason, Terry (Tates) Hayden, Ron Mosson, Ken Storie

The Eighth Street was not a sophisticated music machine - we were beginners - only Terry had any band experience. We started with the standards that every band had to know in 1967 - Louie Louie, Gloria, Just Like Me, early efforts of the Rolling Stones and The Who. But right at that time music was changing, new groups like Cream, Steppenwolf, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience were putting a harder edge on pop music and we were eager to get on that bandwagon. The fact that we didn't have the  skill or the equipment to really put that across didn't seem to matter. We certainly "tried real hard" as Bryan Adams said, and as the first year passed, I'm pretty sure we making progress.

But to the kids attending high school and teen dances, the local bands were good enough, loud enough, and I suppose, cool enough to enjoy. They were just happy to hear a little live rock n' roll.
