It is believed that she fell victim to an unknown traumatic event at a very young age: according to counselors at a juvenile detention center, Ramona experienced some kind of supernatural visitation that told her to start fires (though they are quick to add that it is more likely an early symptom of schizophrenia). Ramona’s pyromaniacal tendencies ultimately led to her being exiled from school and family. She turned her burning passion into a career, becoming a professional arsonist-for-hire. Today she runs with the West Coast Harpies, an all-girl street gang affiliated with the Unholy Avengers. Torchie has severe burn scars on the left-hand side of her face as a result of an early misadventure. |
