Behavior management issues
that present will be addressed initially by encouraging
the children to settle their own disagreements with
assistance of the staff. When this is not possible,
the staff will intervene to discuss what has happened
and help resolve the dispute.
In the event
that a child has harmed another child in any way or
has become violent or out of control, he/she will be
expected to experience time out for no more
than five minutes and will always be observed by staff.
Following the time out and provided the child is calm;
the staff will discuss the inappropriate actions and
feelings of the child with him/her. The child will then
be allowed to return to the play situation.
