Administering Medication

We are required by law to obtain the following before we can administer any medication:

1) Written permission from the parent.
There is a new form to be filled out which includes exact times and dates that care is to be expected as well as when the payment schedule will be set.
2) Accept medicine brought to the center by the parent or guardian. In the case of patent medicine it will be in its original container, and in the case of a prescribed medicine it will be in the container supplied by the pharmacist, preferably bubble packs.
3) All medicine shall be labeled
with the child's name, expiry date, dosage, time, and method of administration and it shall be stored in a location, which is inaccessible to children. Any medicine brought to the center must not remain in the child’s locker, but handed directly to a staff member.
