Christmas Party December
2, 2006 |
Sunday January 15, 2006
- Not much news to report but I figured it was time to
take down the Christmas lights for another year. After a three week
break over the holidays we finally got back at it and beat some of the
cobwebs off last week. It looks like we are going to concentrate on
learning some new tunes for the next little while. Some pictures
from our last gig at the Forty can be seen here.
Also, if you missed the year in review, it can be found there as
well.
Tuesday December 20, 2005
- Thanks to everyone who came out to any of the gigs over the last year. We are
gonna take a break for a few weeks and then finally get back to learning
some new songs. Don't forget to sign the Guestbook.
See you in the New Year.
Sunday, December 18, 2005
- Thanks to everyone who managed to take some time
to come down to the Forty this weekend. We had a bit
(understatement) of a rough night on Friday with some technical issues that
threw us off initially. Although we got everything sorted out, for
some reason we just couldn't really get on the same page. There isn't
a whole lot you can say really - sometimes these things happen.
Luckily, this wasn't a one nighter so we had another chance. It
would be nice to say that somebody in the band had some inspiring words or
if we even talked about the previous night, but thats not really the way
Billy works. On Saturday, we just got on stage, played the best we
could and everything went fine. Simple as that. The Omen played great
as expected and as usual Mike did a great job with the sound. Some
pictures from the weekend and possibly the Billy year in review will be up
later this week.
Sunday, November 20, 2005
- Billy will be playing live at the North
Forty Saloon with The Omen on December 16/17, 2005. Before you spend all
your hard earned cash on gifts, come on down to the Forty for a few
beers and what should be a pretty wide selection of tunes.
Sunday, November 6, 2005
- No real news this week. I was
just looking for an excuse to mess around the web site a bit. We
are currently working on revamping our set lists to add some tunes, and also
add some acoustic flavor into the mix.
Sunday, October 23, 2005
- Thanks to everyone who came out to the
social at the Strathclair
arena last night. Also, thanks to the organizers for having us, The Last Little Bar Band,
Wad and to Morgan for giving us a hand with the sound. Should
have some more pictures posted from last night some time next
week.

Monday, October 10, 2005
- Billy will playing the Strathclair
arena on October 22/05. This gig is a fundraiser for the restoration
of the arena. The other two bands playing are The Last Little Bar Band
and Wad. Tickets details: Under 12 yrs free, 12-16 yrs
$8.00, 17 & over $15.00. This should be a special show as Scott Watson will be
back to
sing some tunes as only he can.
Wednesday, September 07, 2005
- Added some new pictures from our
Minnedosa Rockin the Fields set courtesy of Kat
photography. Check them
out here. We had our first
practice yesterday after a five week break. Hopefully we will
soon have some new tunes in the works. Finally, it looks like we will
be playing somewhere in the Strathclair /Shoal Lake area on October 22/05
(details to follow).
Sunday, July 30 2005
- Thanks to everyone who checked out our
set in Minnedosa on Friday night. Also, a big thanks to Vaughan Boles,
the sound crew, and all the co-op organizers for putting off the event.
Our thoughts going into this gig was to keep the talking to a minimum
and play as many songs we could in the hour and a half we were
given. This way people would get a little more bang for the
buck. We managed to play twenty tunes. Not quite the Ramones (who
used to play eighteen songs in thirty minutes), but all in all, not too
bad. Check out a couple of pictures here.
Hopefully, we can post some more later.
Sunday, July 10 2005
- Thanks to everyone who came out to the
North Forty on Friday and/or Saturday night. Also, a big thank
you to the staff for making it a great weekend. Hopefully, it
won't be another two years before we can get back again. For the next
few weeks we'll be getting our set ready for Rockin' The
Fields. We are always looking for song suggestions, so If you've
got any, drop us an email at billy@westman.wave.ca
or leave them in the Guestbook.
Sunday, July 3 2005
- The lineup for Rockin' The
Fields has now been announced. We'll be playing on Friday July
29th at 8:30PM. Also on Friday night will be Filthy Lucre, Wide
Mouth Mason and Jack
Semple. Finally, as you can see above come
on down to the Forty this weekend for a few beers
and some good tunes. Don't forget to sign the
Guestbook.
Friday, June 10, 2005
- Billy, a gig? Can it
be? Yes it can be. July 8th and 9th at the North 40. I
took a look back through the archives and figured out that we haven't played
the 40 since April of 2003. Also, Prism has been added to the Rockin' The
Fields lineup so get your tickets now. Finally, both the
song list and gigs pages have been updated.
Sunday, April 01, 2005
- Thanks to everyone who came out for the
social in Kenton last weekend. Everyone in the band had a great
time. We do not venture outside Brandon very often for gigs.
However, both times we have been in Kenton in the last few years we got
a good reception, so thanks again. Looking forward to Rockin' The
Fields, but hopefully we can get some other things going (gigs, more
tunes etc.) in between now and then. Don't forget to sign the
guestbook.
Thursday, March 03, 2005
- Check out the song list for some of the
new tunes we have been working on as of late. It looks like we are
playing at Rockin' The
Fields in Minnedosa on August long weekend. It should be a good
time. Also announced so far are Kenny Shields and Streetheart, April
Wine, Jack Semple, Wide Mouth Mason, Filthy Lucre, 18 Rabbit, Sweet
Siren, Chris Ghidoni and Nobodys Business, and FUGR.
Monday, January 03, 2005
- Thanks to everyone at the Band Bash on
Friday night. Also, thanks to all the other bands, sound guys,
security, etc. Hopefully, a good time was had by all. Just
posted some pics so take a look on the photos page. We should be
posting some new gigs soon as Tom is thriving in his new role as booking
agent.
Sunday, December 19, 2004
- Check out the photos section for some new pics from
last night. Thanks to everyone who came out . We are about to start
getting our set ready for the New Years Eve Band Bash at Brandon University.

Tattoo, Catch-A-Tan, Cecil's Bar In Shilo or from any of the bands (DEZL,18 Rabbit,

importantly, have a MERRY CHRISTMAS.
